The Bible makes it very clear you can know for sure you will go to Heaven when you die. 1 John 5:13 says: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
One reason the Bible was written was to give us the plan of Salvation, so we could find out how to go to Heaven.
Listed below are four simple steps to show you how to go to Heaven:
Step 1 – We are all Sinners.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
We have all lived long enough to know we are not perfect, and we have sinned in many ways. We all fall short of God’s standard of Righteousness. We are all Sinners.
Step 2 – There is a penalty on our Sin.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ezekiel 18:4 … the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
There are two deaths in the Bible. Physical death is when the Body dies. We have all been to funerals. The second death is when the body dies, and the soul is separated from God, and goes to a place the Bible calls @#!*% . If we receive what we deserve because we are all sinners, it would be to die and go to @#!*% for Eternity. This is the penalty on our sin.
Step 3 – Jesus paid our penalty.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
God loved us so much He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross to pay our sin debt. While He was on the Cross, he shed His blood to pay for our sins, and the price was paid.
1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
After His death He was buried, and three days later, He arose from the grave. In doing so Christ made it possible to go to Heaven when we die.
Step 4 – We must accept by Faith God’s free gift of eternal life.
God’s gift to us is eternal life in Heaven.
Romans 6:23 … but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
A gift cannot be purchased or earned. It can only be received. Wouldn’t you like to receive God’s free gift of eternal life?
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
We must accept by Faith what Christ did for us. It is His gift to us, and we cannot earn it or buy it.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Our good works such as church attendance, baptism, communion, and being a good citizen may have their place, but they will not give us eternal life and Heaven. We all have a decision to make! Are you willing right now to Trust Christ as your Savior? Will you receive Him by putting your faith and trust in Him, and Him alone?
If you recognize you are a sinner and deserve to go to @#!*% ; and believe that Christ died, was buried, and rose again to provide the free gift of eternal life for you; and you are ready to pray and trust Christ as your personal Savior, please pray this simple Prayer to express your Faith in Christ:
“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and deserve @#!*% , and I know I cannot save myself. I do believe You died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead, and I Trust you to be my Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins, and giving me the gift of eternal Life. Amen.”
